Note to future self…
The world is full of secrets. If we can find and act on those secrets, then great things can happen(:
Here’s a quick framework I’ve found to think about secrets in the context of startups:
- The Secret. What’s the new secret about the world?
- How was the secret earned (unique experience, deep expertise, trial and error, personal situation)?
- Is the secret surprising in the moment and obvious in hindsight??
A secret is essentially a hypothesis of how the world works that might go against the general consensus (however you choose to define that).
Takeaway: What is our secret at Index?
There will be a category leader in the enterprise search market that will look a lot like a playful version of Google that can be used a lot by small and large teams.
