Bottlenecks

Note to future self…

After talking to several founders I’ve realized that every company that has scaled to a certain size has inevitably hit significant bottlenecks. What I mean by this is that a lot of companies reach a certain scale and they have to unlock a certain growth channel or something similar in order to get the next level.

This might seem obvious but the problem is that when you’re a really tiny startup you don’t know exactly what those bottlenecks will be. This can be nerve wracking because you don’t know what you don’t know but you know that those unknowns can fuck you up.

I honestly don’t have a lot of actionable takeaways here because I still haven’t experienced or really overcome major bottlenecks. However, I think that it’s important to remember this because eventually, we will all hit those bottlenecks(:
