Note to future self…
Who in your life helps you “raise the bar” for yourself?
I think the best friendships are those where both individuals can help each other become a better version of themselves.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about who’re the “bar raisers” in my life? Do I have enough of these people in my life? Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s the case. So how else could I find these people? Here are a couple of ideas:
- Pro-actively reaching out to the smartest people in my network
I feel that setting up a mechanism that constantly pushes you to be better is something that we need to actively work on. It’s a complex system that has to be constantly readjusted based on the people your needs in life.
How do you know when enough is enough?
Having people constantly pushing you to be better probably has a point of diminishing returns. I assume that you fill overwhelmed if you find yourself in this position because you might not be able to catch up with other people or their expectations.
Nevertheless, I feel that I am really far right now so I need to work harder on this.
Now back to work…
