Note to my future self..
Today as I was wrapping up my headspace meditation session the narrator made this analogy that really stuck with me. He said that times of desperation, sadness and confusion are like dark clouds. Dark clouds are always moving and eventually these bad moments as well will pass. Dark clouds are also that clouds. In reality if you got on a plane and flew over the clouds you would realize that it’s a bright day. This is always the case. Absolutely every single day.
I feel that this is such a powerful idea because it vividly showcases how our mind torments but that doesn’t mean that the world is actually falling apart.
I am sure that the narrator does a much better job at explaining this metaphor than I can so if you want to listen it for yourself it’s Headspace basic collection #1 episode 8/10. Enjoy (:
