Note to future self…
Today a friend of mine suggested that we should think about two questions that I found fascinating:
- Are there things you don’t want but want to want? What are they?
- And are there things you want but don’t want to want?
These are my answers:

Weightlifting: I am specifically referring to wanting to weight-lift. I just can’t get myself to love it just yet. I think that part of it is because I still haven’t unlocked any value that closes the feedback loop for me.
Reading: I do want to read I just don’t want it as much as I wish I did. Reason? Same as above.
- And are there things you want but don’t want to want?
Social Recognition: I am a sucker for praise and I think I am getting better at it but it’s tough.
Unhealthy Foods: I still crave certain things that I know are not good for me.
Takeaways
Question #1: I need to identify my pay-offs and try to get to those as quick as possible.
Question #2: I need to identify my pay-offs and substitute them for things that I value more AND are healthier.
